Seller guidelines

What we expect from every store on Studex, and what buyers should be able to count on.

Getting set up

You'll need a verified email before you can open a store. Once you're set up, list and manage everything from your dashboard, and your public page lives at your storefront for anyone to browse.

Describe things honestly

This is the one that matters most. Say plainly what condition an item is in, and don't lean on a flattering photo to do work the description should. If it's used, say so. If there's a scratch, mention it. Buyers are on the same campus as you — a reputation travels fast in both directions.

Use real photos

Photograph the actual item you're selling. Stock images are fine only as a supplement for a brand-new, sealed product, and never as the main image for something second-hand.

Price it clearly

The price you list is the price the buyer pays for the item. Only set an "old price" if the item genuinely used to sell at that price — inflated crossed-out prices are misleading and we'll remove them.

Keep your listings current

Delete or mark items that have sold. Nothing frustrates a buyer more than paying for something that's already gone.

Respond and hand over promptly

Once payment clears, you'll get a notification. Confirm the order and agree a handover time and place with the buyer. Aim to reply within a day.

What isn't allowed

The Studex Guarantee

Buyers can claim a full refund within 24 hours if an item doesn't match its description. Describe accurately and this will essentially never affect you.

If you break the rules

Depending on severity we may remove a listing, hide your store, or close it. Anything involving fraud or stolen goods goes straight to closure.
